NSR is underway with the construction of three new rigs for Norway, ready for operation when the market picks up, MD Stephen Adshead told Finansavisen in connection with DNB’s Oil- and Offshore conference this week.
The rig fleet on the Norwegian shelf is upgraded in recent years. Of the around 30 floating drilling rigs in operation now, 14 are units built in 2008 or later.
The object is to build new rigs that can replace old rigs in the North Sea. We know our rigs will enter NCS. The question is when, Mr. Adshead told the newspaper.
